How to use chat settings?
Welcome to this guide, where we will walk you through essential settings for chats and invites. Since chats are an integral part of our daily interactions, it’s important to understand how they work and what actions you can take within them. Let's get started!
All about chat setting
You can find all settings regarding chats within the chat itself. For that click on the 3 dots on the top right corner of your screen.
1️⃣The "read-only' mode
Putting a chat into "read-only" mode is important for chat moderation, especially when a situation escalates or bots find their way into chats. This mode will prevent regular users from sending messages in the chat.
Only Hosts and Co-Hosts can change this setting.
2️⃣"Muting"
This setting essentially disables any notifications coming from the muted chat. This setting works for public chats and private chats.
3️⃣How to disable chat invitations?
You can decide on who can message you through your chat setting. This has to get changed manually per each circle. You can choose between "Everyone", "Member‘s I‘m following" or "disable" it completely.
Please note that chat hosts and co-hosts have additional settings:
- Customize (chat icon, chat name, and description)
- Chat wallpaper
- they can view "Kicked members" - who has been kicked and by who
Exclusively to chat owners/host, and moderation team members they can transfer ownership to any member in the chat.
Members, or users can report the chat directly through chat settings using the "Report chat" option. Reported chats will go to the circle's moderation team. If the chat host is the circle owner or staff member, the report will go directly to Team Kyodo.
We hope this article helps everyone to understand chats and the given possibilities. If you have questions or concerns reach out via the Helpdesk.
