What is a circle restriction?
A circle restriction occurs when your circle has violated the ToS and/or Community Guidelines. Common reasons include, but are not limited to:
Spam or bot activity
Moderation abuse or lack of moderation
When a circle is placed in restriction mode, it becomes unlisted and locked behind approval-only mode. During this time, members can still request to join and be approved by staff, but the circle will no longer appear in search results.
What is a circle appeal?
The circle owner and staff may appeal the restriction after the issue has been resolved. An appeal option will appear in the “Circle Notices” tab, which is only visible to circle staff within the admin panel.
Please note that you may only appeal once. If the issue has not been properly addressed before submitting the appeal, it will be rejected and the circle will remain permanently restricted. Circles get one chance, that’s it.
Once an appeal is submitted, your circle details will be locked. This means you will no longer be able to change the circle name, description, or settings. You will still be able to perform basic moderation actions within the circle, such as featuring or disabling posts. Once the circle appeal has been approved or rejected, circle settings will go back to normal/restricted depending on the result of your appeal.
