Circle Staff Roles

There are different moderation roles within Kyodo circles that help moderate the community, they are users who help establish guidelines for the circle and enact them, ensuring the well-being of users within the circle.

Kyodo has three different roles you can take on within a circle’s moderation team.

Owner

Owners are the creators or direct owners of the circle, They have all permissions and can take every available moderation action (disable articles, wikis, profiles, chats and deleting messages as well as highlighting and removing highlights from posts).

Circle Owners can delete and manage the circle, they can add pages, change the circle theme, change the circle’s name or request the circle to be featured. Additionally, Circle Owners are the only members of the moderation team that can request a frame event, anniversary frame or submit the circle for discovery.

Circle Owners have full access to the admin panel (which they can open through the side bar).

Furthermore, Circle Owners may manage the moderation team, they can add mods and admins or remove them from their positions. They ensure the moderation team acts fair and ensures the well-being of all circle members.

Circle Owners can:

  • Customize the circle (edit theme, name, tagline, topics, theme color, description, guidelines, add pages)
  • Add or remove Mods and Admins
  • Disable and enable articles, chats, personas and wikis
  • Give titles.
  • Transfer Ownership of Chats
  • Access Reports and Flags and process them
  • Access to the Audit Logs
  • Enable or Disable Kyodo Features within the circle (Chats, Posts)
  • Submit the circle to Discovery
  • Apply for Frame Events, Features or Anniversary Frames
  • Strike, warn, hide and ban members
  • Feature & Pin Posts

Admins

Admins are the second-in-command, they help the owner manage the circle and staff team. They have full access to the admin panel as well as the standard moderation tools and help the Circle Owner with circle managing tasks.

They help the Circle Owner maintain the well-being and safety of the circle by moderating posts and chats or enacting the circle's rules by sending out warnings or strikes to members; they also have the ability to permanently ban members. They help the Circle Owner review reports and decide on how to handle them.

They help define and set guidelines for the circle and ensure members follow them. Admins also keep an eye on moderators, making sure the team responds fairly and equally to rule breaking offenses.

Admins can:

  • Customize the circle (edit theme, name, tagline, topics, theme color, description, guidelines, add pages)
  • Disable and enable articles, chats, personas and wikis.
  • Give titles.
  • Transfer Ownership of Chats
  • Access Reports and Flags and process them
  • Access to the Audit Logs
  • Enable or Disable Kyodo Features within the circle (Chats, Posts)
  • Strike, warn, hide and ban members
  • Add Mods and Admins
  • Feature & Pin Posts

Mods

Mods help with community-managing tasks, they ensure the chats, profiles and posts are following the circle’s guidelines. They are often the first instance when it comes to moderation, they help disable content that breaks the guidelines or help by giving out warnings and strikes to members who are breaking the guidelines.

Mods help relay information about mishaps and rule breaking offenses to the Circle Owner and Admins in case a member needs to be banned or further action needs to be taken.

Mods can:

  • Disable and enable articles, chats, personas and wikis.
  • Strike, warn and hide members
  • Access to the Audit Logs
  • Feature & Pin Posts
