Verified Circles FAQ
We’ve recently seen a surge in questions about circle verification, so we wanted to take a moment to explain what it means and how it works.
What are Verified Circles?
Verified Circles are circles that are officially owned, partnered, and or supported by Team Kyodo. You’ll notice that most of these circles have a dedicated volunteer assigned to them. These volunteers are selected by our team and act as a bridge between the circle’s owners/admins and Team Kyodo. They help relay concerns, coordinate tasks, and ensure smooth communication.
How are Verified Circles selected?
We verify circles based on factors like topic relevance and activity level. Once a circle is verified, it becomes officially managed by Team Kyodo, meaning we take on the responsibility of overseeing it, including key decisions and moderation rights.
In some cases, Team Kyodo offers verification to circles in a sponsorship and or partnership deal. We do not own these circles, but we do actively support them.
That said, we always encourage and welcome the original circle owner’s continued involvement. Your voice still matters, and we value the experience and insight you bring to the community.
There is no official application to become a verified circle. Team Kyodo will reach out to the circles we have reviewed and deemed fit to become official. Owners cannot request for a circle verification.
Can an official circle lose verification?
Yes, in some cases, circles can lose their verification.
For partnership or sponsored circles, verification may be removed once the partnership ends or the sponsorship deal concludes.
For official circles, if there is an abuse of power or failure to follow Team Kyodo’s rules and guidelines, we may take further action. In certain situations, this could mean transferring ownership to one of our assigned volunteers or, in more serious cases, removing the circle’s verification entirely if the circle is deemed a risk to Team Kyodo.
